About Our President, Kat Welniak
Kathryn “Kat” Welniak’s involvement in the industry dates back to her first job as a telephone pole climber when she was 18.
With the ability to command all aspects of construction and explain complex issues to non-technical people, Kat’s portfolio spans across mid-range to high-end projects; from ground-up construction to expansions and renovations across diverse commercial spaces.
Kat leads KMG Solutions with an unwavering focus on excellence and personally oversees every project detail ensuring all parties have the same vision (and goal) in mind. She’s outgoing, personable, and puts a high value on helping teams from different disciplines work well together.
She was instrumental in the development and construction of Town Square Las Vegas - a $775,000,000 100-acre mixed-use development located in the landing flight path of Harry Reid International Airport in Last Vegas, on time and $33 Million UNDER BUDGET
A highly regarded general contractor and specialty vendor database–plus her dedication to delivering creative solutions while upholding design integrity–have earned Kat the reputation of being an "exceptional" force integral to project success
Her expertise also extends to other openings on existing mixed-use developments with over 2.65M square feet of entertainment venues, big box retailers, restaurants, retail spaces, and class A office spaces, totaling over $328 million in capital and real estate improvements.
One of her most challenging projects was repairing the failing substrate ground underneath a multi-tenant building that was on the edge of a cliff over a wildlife preserve.
When she’s not busy working hard, Kat likes to live large.
She once dismantled 6 lawnmowers to make a go-cart when she was a kid.
She is an Avid SF 49er Fan and a professional Hockey aficionado (Go Knights Go!)
A total foodie, Kat loves cooking, farmers markets, and wineries.
An animal lover and dog mom, Kat loves spending quality time with her family and friends.
She enjoys traveling in her free time and being active in her daily life by mountain biking, camping, boogie boarding, and golfing.
A lover of architecture, Kat spends her free time sketching cityscapes from memory. And sometimes photographing them!
Has traveled for clients to over 35 states! Chicago, IL is her favorite, with New Hampshire as a close second.
